On Tuesday (April 6), Southern Methodist College assistant soccer coach, Jamal Powell, died. He was 39.
Powell was simply days away from his fortieth birthday on April 10.
“We’re deeply saddened to study of the passing of Jamal Powell,” the college’s soccer workforce tweeted on Wednesday. “Our hearts and prayers are along with his household and associates throughout this troublesome time.”
It isn’t instantly clear what Powell’s reason for dying is. In line with NBCDFW, He had been battling Guillian-Barré Syndrome, an autoimmune dysfunction, and stage 4 colon most cancers.
A GoFundMe campaign for Powell’s household was created after he was recognized.
Powell spent the previous three years at SMU. He was first an offensive line coach, and most lately, served as offensive high quality management analyst.
